I don't think that they are- since they match the paint color so perfectly. They don't make vinyl that color. That takes some talent to paint that steady!
Oh yes, you are right - it really matches the colour of the wall to perfectly to be a sticker. I think I've seen something similar done on a tv show called "Debbie Travis Facelift". They used a stencil there (is that the right word?) You might want to check out their website http://www.debbietravisfacelift.com/ they have some really cool DIY projects.
